Notes: "Hagoromo" is a chamber dance opera, inspired by the swan maiden archetype and based on a 400 year old Noh drama, with a new libretto by Brendan Pelsue. It is scored for contralto and tenor soloists, girls’ chorus, five instruments, and electronics. Commissioned by ICE and American Opera Projects, it premiered at BAM Next Wave Festival, in a production danced by Wendy Whelan and Jock Soto, conceived by David Michalek.
